Capitol Studios
Capitol Studios is a legendary recording studio based in the Capitol Records Tower in Hollywood, California.
Since opening in 1956, Capitol Studios has been a staple of the recording industry. The studios have been used by artists such as Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole and The Beach Boys to more modern artists like Arcade Fire.
So my playlist throughout this build was varied, to say the least!
The Build
The build of this WordPress website involved a complete re-skin of their existing content. This brought the design of the site into a new era with a slightly more modern look while keeping the focus on their content.
Another major part of the build was to make an online Mixing and Mastering service. This would allow users and members of the public to submit their music to Capitol, for mixing and mastering by their engineers.
Users can now register, upload their tracks, choose their required format (CD, Vinyl etc), select the engineer they wish to use and then select if their tracks require mixing, mastering or both. The engineers are the very same engineers that work with all the major artists that come through the Capitol doors, so customers are getting industry experts to work on their music.
The Result
The result is a website that acts as both a front page for the record studio and as a WooCommerce store for people to have their records worked on by some of the best in the industry.
Once a mix or master is complete, the user is notified and can then download all the files and then get their music out to the masses.
