8 out of 10 Bats

As a result of the BBC discontinuing the popular nature show Autumn Watch, Chris Packham and Megan McCubbin decided to venture out alone and make a new show, 8 out of 10 Bats.

We’re delighted to be able to offer two weeks of free live broadcasts celebrating UK wildlife, showcasing campaign issues and giving space to new young & diverse talent. Starting on 23rd October at 7:30pm, the series will be based at two locations; Dundreggan Rewilding Centre in Scotland and the British Wildlife Centre in England.

The show airs on YouTube and was a low-budget, factual show which was a similar model to some of Packham’s shows during the UK Covid-19 lockdown.

The website

The programme required a website in order to be shared on social media to promote the new show. The website was subsequently shared by a huge number of people.

The site was a basic one-pager with the aim of gathering details of interested viewers in order to send out alerts to to the shows.

The Results

The feedback from the website was very positive. Many people signed up and viewing numbers for the first episode were in their thousands.
